Ålesund to Finnøy along Eurovelo 1

Follow the way north along the Atlantic coast.

Start this bicycle route from the seaside town Ålesund, with boats and ferry to the small island Finnøy. It is part of Eurovelo 1 along the Atlantic coast, and is signed as National Route 1. Check timetables for the ferries before you start. The roads are all paved. The total length on road is 31 km, one way.

Get pastries on the way at the bakery in Søvik, or find a meal in Brattvåg. In Steinshamn there is a B&B with a pub, and you can also stay the night in a tent or at Finnøy Havstuer. Remember to book in advance.

If you want a shortcut back to Ålesund, there is a passenger boat taking you all the way back from Myklebust, where the ferry arrives.
